#1 New York Times Bestseller
When the phrase "#1 New York Times Best Seller" appear on a book, it's usually understood that the book may be a good read. It also means that the book must've been positively reviewed by readers or editors which adds to the book's sales. While checking up on what "#1 New York Times Best Seller" actually means and how you get on the list is a big conspiracy theory that I would not even begin to speak on.

But today, what I am going to speak on, are reviews. In particular, Facebook reviews.
Shaw (2018) stated that Facebook is the largest social media platform in the world and has over 2 billion active users every month! Therefore, Facebook definitely has a wide reach and with reach comes influence. Sometimes i'm casually scrolling through Facebook and a business has something to sell that catches my eye. The first thing I do is go to the page and check out the customer reviews/ratings. Similar to when i'm shopping on Amazon.com, I scroll right down to get my customer reviews and pics to see how the product i'm interested in works for real people. The reviews influence my purchase decisions for sure.
Businesses need to be aware of the reviews/ratings that customers give them on Facebook for that reason specifically. New customers will be influenced by existing/past customer reviews and the business can use these reviews as areas where they need to improve - as in customer service and so on.
On the other hand, even though a lot of us check out customer reviews, doesn't necessarily mean we leave reviews for the next customer. Leaving reviews are good to help the business improve, it's your chance to voice your opinions and it's not all that time-consuming either.
Do you remember the last time you left a Facebook review whether good or bad? I cannot - but the latest review I left was on Tripadvisor.com about a hotel stay I had in Tobago.
So I wanted to test out how many of you guys actually leave Facebook reviews and ran a poll on here for a couple of days! But unfortunately, the poll is now closed!
Here are the results!
UPDATE: I have started my own personal blog.

I am rarely ever on Fb so therefore never really leave reviews. Actually the last time I left a review is because my friend who has a business messsged me and asked me to go leave a review.
ReplyDeleteI understand. I rarely use facebook as well. Of late it's to view/share an occasional meme, purchase something and leave reviews. Not super social on there.
DeleteI rarely ever do reviews on facebook.
ReplyDeleteHmm. I'm noticing this a lot.
DeleteI only rate and review if I have a bad experience with the product or service on fb.
ReplyDeleteInteresting. I saw some research where they say customers really only review when they have a bad experience.
DeleteI personally think going to leave a review on Facebook is so tedious, lol. I very much rather click the star to leave a rating!
ReplyDeleteTedious...interesting.
DeleteI'd much rather call to leave a good review. I'd use Facebook for a bad one but rarely publicly.
ReplyDeleteSo personable.
