Tuned in to the right station?

Have you ever turned on the television but the show you were supposed to watch didn't air? You shrug it off and go about your merry way but the next day everyone is talking about the new episode and you're like, "what new episode? " Then your friend is like, "the latest episode. You mean you didn't see it last night?" And you're like "No, it wasn't on!" And she looks at you confused and probably thinks that you didn't pay your cable bill that month - when you were actually on the wrong channel!

Well today, we're gonna discuss choosing the right social media channels for you and your business.

There are so many options nowadays to advertise your business and it may be difficult to determine which is the right one.
Maslow (2018) stated that your business does not have to be on every social media platform there is, as some channels may be a perfect match for your business, while others may not be so effective.

Two tips for choosing the right channels are as follows:
  • Knowing your customer base - You'd have to figure out what platforms they are on and try to be as active as possible on those platforms so that they can see you. This does not mean, however, that every social media platform is worth investing so much time into - which brings us to the next point:
  • Weigh the pros and cons of each platform - what can Facebook do for you that Twitter cannot? You'd need to meticulously plan and cipher out which platform is most beneficial to you, your business and your customers.

Here is a link to a very short video that gives you all the answers about choosing the right social media channel for your business.

Let's get interactive! If any company had to market their product/service to you, what's the best social media platform to do so, and why?

For me, it's Instagram! Instagram is the best app for companies to market to me as I enjoy loads of visual content and I think it's quite engaging and a definite way to entice customers by way of images. You know the saying 'a picture is worth a thousand words'?Instagram definitely revamped that statement and it makes companies at least step up their social media game because they want the visuals of their business to at least seem appealing.

Hope ya remote control is still working! If you have to switch the channel, do it now!

See ya in my next post!

    1. Yea, Facebook was a hitter in the beginning, but of late it's not so appealing to me anymore.
